Family & Consumer Science
In 4-H, you have the chance to learn how to do things that you will use for the rest of your life. Family and Consumer Science projects relate to you, your home and your family. If you are a person who can’t wait to have a family and home of your own, you’ll like these projects. In a project booklet, you will learn facts about a topic of interest to you and get your hands into making a product or doing a fun activity or experiment.
Check out this list of some of the things you can learn to do:
- Dress to impress
- Cook a variety of foods
- Mend or make your own clothes
- Maintain a healthy weight by eating the right way
- Get along with others in your family
- Decorate your room
- Spend money wisely
- Practice good manners
- Budget your money
- Make good decisions
- Start your own business
- Babysit your brothers/sisters or neighbor’s children
- Learn about jobs and what it takes to get a job in a field that interests you
