Academic advising and registration is a critical step to achieving your degree in Agricultural Economics. Students play an equally important role in the process as advisors. It is important that you attend your advising meeting fully prepared so that you will be advised properly, ensuring that your progression towards graduation is a smooth process. Please complete the following steps prior to your advising meeting:
Complete Plan of Study (click here)
Create a list of proposed courses and alternatives
Course offerings are found on myUK
See the descriptions below for more information about these requirements.
Students should use APEX (Academic Program Evaluation & Exploration) to determine what courses they need to complete for graduation. Access APEX through your student account at myUK .
Plan of Study
All Agricultural Economics students are required to complete a Plan of Study form. To obtain a copy of the forms for the Agribusiness Management and Food Marketing or Agricultural Economics options visit the Plan of Study webpage. Please complete the appropriate form and bring it to your advising session. This working copy of your Plan of Study will help you to know that you are fulfilling degree requirements.
During your Junior year you will complete a final Plan of Study Form, credits totaled and signed by you and your advisor, to be submitted to the College. Take the final completed form to Ms. Toelle (Rm. 413 C.E. Barnhart Bldg.)
Class schedule books are no longer printed by the University. If you are a currently enrolled or admitted student and you have an Active Directory User Account, search for classes using the myUK portal. If you do not have an Active Directory User Account, you are able to search for courses electronically at www.iris.uky.edu/coursecatalog.
All students are required to make an advising appointment and meet with an Agricultural Economics advisor to discuss your Plan of Study and complete your class registration worksheet. Meeting with an advisor is necessary to have your advising hold lifted and to register for classes. You will be able to make an appointment with your AEC advisor online through your myUK student account. If you do not presently have an advisor in Agricultural Economics contact Janene Burke.
