April 25th, two new county Extension Agents for Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) completed a one-day orientation with FCS Extension administrators and state staff. The School of Human Environmental Sciences welcomes them to their new roles serving families in Christian and Mason counties.

As a student Tiffany was active in several student organizations including Chi Sigma Iota, the National Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society and Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society, the National Honor Society in Family and Consumer Sciences. She was also a School of Human Environmental Sciences Ambassador. Since her graduation Tiffany has worked in a number of counseling and therapy positions. Her latest employment was as Public Information Officer for the Christian County Health Department. Tiffany began her work with Cooperative Extension in Christian County on April 15.
Rachael Chihak will begin her work as Mason County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences on May 15. She is expected to graduate from UK in May with a Bachelor of Science in Family Sciences and a minor in Community Leadership Development.
As a student at UK, Rachael has been active in Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society, serving as the organization’s librarian. She has served the UK Association of Family and Consumer Sciences as president and the Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Sciences as student unit chair. Rachael was awarded the Outstanding Student in Family and Consumer Sciences by the Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Sciences at their annual meeting in February 2013. Rachael has worked in the School of Human Environmental Sciences Director’s suite as a student/staff intern during the 2012-2013 academic year.Welcome to Tiffany and Rachael!
