News & Notes
From the Director
Dr. Ann Vail The fall semester is underway and campus is thriving with activity. The beginning of this academic year marked my tenth anniversary as Director of the School. During that time, our grant portfolio has increased exponentially, our enrollment has increased, we have experienced growth in our faculty and staff numbers and elevated our research productivity. Our faculty have worked to increase international opportunities for our students and our international research and service portfolio has expanded. We have benefitted from an increase in support from our alumni and friends. Our progress during the past ten years has set us for a course for continued advancement. Thank you to each of you for your contributions to this effort.

The beginning of the semester also provided a new opportunity for me as Provost Tim Tracy announced my appointment to serve as interim dean for the College of Social Work. My roles in the School and as assistant director for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension continue and I look forward to working with colleagues across campus.

With warmest wishes,

Ann Vail
