Allen Receives Mid-Career Service Award

Rosie AllenCongratulations to Rosie Allen, Gallatin County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, for receiving the Epsilon Sigma Phi Mid-Career Service Award for Kentucky and the Southern Region.

As a member of Epsilon Sigma Phi for 15 years, Rosie Allen has continued to exceed expectations and excel in the area of Family & Consumer Sciences.  Professional involvements and leadership roles indicate Allen's accomplishments as a professional in her career.  Rosie continues to conduct high quality Extension educational programs through effective use of volunteers, strong committee/task force structure and collaborative efforts.

As a member of the HEEL Men's Activity Project planning committee, Rosie helped develop a program called, All Star D.A.D.s (Daily Active Dads), which is a physical activity campaign to promote parents being active with their child/ren.  Gallatin County participated as one of four counties in the pilot test.  All Star D.A.D.s in part came to life after Allen attended a Social Marketing Field School with support from the Epsilon Sigma Phi Richard Angus Professional Development scholarship.

The School of Human Environmental Sciences congratulates Rosie for her continued work in Family & Consumer Sciences Extension and this recent honor.
