John H. Heick Professorship in Soil Science

The “John H. Heick Professorship in Soil Science” is awarded to a Department of Plant and Soil Sciences faculty member who:

  1. Conducts research in an area of soil sciences;
  2. Is recognized as an outstanding leader in that field;
  3. Contributes to the advancement of new knowledge; and
  4. Has a strong research program underway involving other faculty, staff, and students.

The Professorship is awarded by the Dean of the College of Agriculture following the recommendation of the selection committee. The Professorship is held for three years and may be renewed for a second three-year term.
