FEDERAL RESEARCH DOLLARS....More federal research dollars are on the way to the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture thanks to efforts of Kentucky's senior U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell. The highlight being $3 million dollars for Kentucky’s first federal research laboratory to be built on the UK campus.

    4H CAPITOL EXPERIENCE…For the second straight year 4HERs from all across Kentucky headed to the state capitol in Frankfort for a 4H Capitol Experience. About 600 4HERs attended this year’s event.
 
PHILLIP MORRIS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM…A program designed to develop the leadership skills of young adults involved in agriculture continues today. It’s sponsored by Phillip Morris U.S.A and administered through UK. One of the highlights of the program is a trip to South America to see agriculture in Brazil and Argentina.
 
BEAUTIFUL LANDS…The devastating tsunami that struck southeast Asia in December may define the area forever. But that’s what some people in Kentucky who have ties to that part of the world want to change. They what to show everyone that it is a beautiful land.
 

KY STATE SATELLITE TRUCK…A dream finally became a reality for Kentucky State University recently with the unveiling of a new satellite uplink/downlink production truck. The facility should help KSU deliver Extension and educational programming to the world.

 
  EXTENSION CONFERENCE…Extension Today revisits this year’s biennial professional development conference in Lexington. One of the highlights is the performance of Kentucky State’s University’s concert choir at the celebration banquet. Also see how some Extension specialists and agents spend their “down” time while attending the conference.
