Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratories

The UK Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (PDDL) is an educational resource for UK County Extension Agents as they assist their clients in diagnosis and management of plant diseases.  There are two branches of the PDDL, one on the main campus in Lexington and one at the UK Research and Education Center in Princeton, KY.

Submitting Samples

Kentucky residents who wish to submit plant samples for diagnosis should contact their local County Extension Office for information on sample preparation and submission.  The UK Extension publication “Submitting Plant Specimens for Disease Diagnosis” [PPFS-GEN-9] provides additional tips on how to collect and package plant samples for diagnosis.

County Extension personnel should refer to the Procedures Manual for instructions on submitting samples and appropriate forms.
