McDonald Named UK Alumni Association Board of Directors College Representative
Michelle Knapke McDonald of Carlisle was elected to the UK Alumni Association Board of Directors as a College of Agriculture representative. Her term began July 1, 2012, and will continue through June 30, 2015.
McDonald received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1984 and a Master of Science in Education in 1992 from the University of Kentucky. During her time at UK she served on the Student Activities Board and was a member of Student Government. After 12 years of teaching Human Environmental Sciences, she was elected Property Valuation Administrator of Nicholas County in 1998 and is currently serving her fourth term in office. She is a Life Member of the UK Alumni Association, a University Fellow, UKAN delegate and a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron. She has served as treasurer, vice president and president of the UK Ag/HES Alumni Association and currently serves as past president. She is president of the Nicholas County Historical Society and the Bluegrass Home Economists organization, and a member of the Carlisle/Nicholas County Tourism. She is an active member of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a member of the choir. She and her husband Phillip live on a farm in Carlisle and enjoy traveling.
