Family of the Year Awardees

A new award in 2006! This honor is bestowed upon a selected family who has a history of dedicated service and attendance to the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture and School of Human Envvironmental Sciences.

2006 Winners, The Culton Family

Catherine Culton Thompson, Robert Culton,
Helen Culton Price, Geneva Culton Glasscock & Daniel Culton

The first annual Family of the Year award goes to the Culton Family. Few other families come close to matching the Culton’s when it comes to alumni loyalty. Eugene and Margaret Culton reared 10 children in Boyle County, Kentucky during a time when a college education was considered a luxury. Yet, seven of Eugene and Maggie’s children earned bachelor’s degrees from UK’s College of Agriculture. Additionally, the Culton’s have been strong supporters of various scholarships since the 1980’s. The Culton’s graciously contributed toward the renovation of the E.S. Good Barn and named the Culton Suite in memory and honor of their parents. The College dedicated the Culton Suite in the fall of 2004 and it currently serves as a meeting place for the AG & HES Alumni Association Board of Directors.
