Area of Research
The project that I am involved in is focusing on the influence of an experimental herbicide on hardwood control in hydrologically restored Carolina Bay depression wetlands. After one year of involvement in this project I am amazed at how dramatically these wetland sites have changed for the better with the restoration efforts in place. The upland communities previously present on these sites are looking more like true wetland communities with every trip that I take to South Carolina. Ecosystem restoration is a major interest for me and it is especially exciting to be participating in a wetland ecosystem restoration project.

Personal Interests and Hobbies
In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, playing soccer, hunting, and fishing. I also enjoy riding motorcycles pretty much whenever and wherever possible.
