Appearance:

Adults reach 3 1/2' in length. Red snout and red, black & yellow rings. Red and yellow rings do not touch. Slender and cylindrical. scarlet snake has a Plain white belly. Eastern red milk snake has a row of brown to reddish brown blotches with black borders.

Notes:

Eats rodents, lizards, birds, and snakes. Secretive and often found in rotting stumps and logs. May hiss and strike.
