Tree Measurement Win With Wood

Most of Kentucky’s forest is located in the eastern half of the state where we will focus the Win With Wood project. This project will bring together the youth of the region, along with forest and wood industries owners/ businessmen, Extension agents and leaders, and UK specialist in a collaborative project. Our objectives are to introduce/acquaint the youth of the region with forestry and wood industries skills, experiences, and career opportunities.

We will also involve the industry owners and businessmen with the development of state-of-the-art training aids for the agents and leaders. The industry leaders, agents, and specialist will also be involved with the individual events during the Win With Wood event. The Win With Wood Project is designed to foster technology/ information sharing between the youth in Eastern Kentucky and the forestry and wood industries. Anticipated outcomes include: positive natural resource awareness among the citizens of East Kentucky and more career opportunities for the youth in this area.
