Hospitality Management Internship Program

HMT 499 is the Hospitality Management undergraduate internship course.  This is a capstone course that provides a platform for students to gain knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level management positions in the hospitality industry while working in a "real life" setting. Students are expected to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from the various classes being taught at the University of Kentucky in an appropriate hospitality establishment approved by the instructor.

Dietetic Internship      DI

The Dietetic Internship, administered in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, provides post baccalaureate and graduate students the opportunity to meet the twelve hundred plus hours (1200+) supervised practice hours of professional experience to become eligible to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) national registry exam to earn the credential Registered Dietitian (RD). The DI provides the students with educational opportunities designed with a Nutrition and Food Systems Management concentration. Experiences for entry-level practice include medical nutrition therapy, food service systems management, and community nutrition through a minimum of 1204 hours of supervised practice and didactic course work.

Coordinated Program in Dietetics     CP

The Coordinated Program (CP), administered in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, provides undergraduate students the opportunity to meet the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) knowledge and competency requirements through didactic content and 1,239 supervised practice hours of professional experience to become eligible to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) national registry exam to earn the credential Registered Dietitian (RD). The CP provides the students with educational opportunities with a Leadership and Service Learning concentration. Experiences for entry-level practice include medical nutrition therapy, food service systems management, and community nutrition through a minimum of 1,239 hours of supervised practice and didactic course work.
