News & Notes
From the Director
Dr. Ann Vail Spring has officially arrived and color is returning to the landscape on campus. After our harsh winter, the green grass and tree buds are a much welcomed sight. In the School of Human Environmental Sciences, 2014 is a year of celebration. We have already celebrated several successes and recognitions with our students, faculty, staff and alumni as highlighted in this newsletter. In addition, we are celebrating the Centennial for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension at the University of Kentucky. In 1914, the first home demonstration agents were hired to work during the summer months to assist girl's canning clubs and teach food preservation. Those early pioneers laid the foundation for our present-day programs. Throughout this year, you'll have an opportunity to read more about this special commemoration through this newsletter, our website and our social media. We invite you to join us for this special year of celebration.

With warmest wishes,

Ann Vail Ann Vail
