Welcome to the Kentucky Consortium of Community Leadership (KCCL)

Where leadership begins with you.

Established in 2008, the Kentucky Consortium of Community Leadership (KCCL) was designed as a “one-stop shop” for all of your community leadership needs.  This isn't your traditional consortium that involves a grouping of organizations passionate about a particular subject. This is a "resource consortium" - or a grouping of websites, trainings, articles, and information on the subject of community leadership. Specifically, this website brings together the numerous resources that leaders need to be successful in today’s complex communities.

Extension leadership in your county

Your county could be here!  The County Leadership Profile section is a small way to recognize excellent or interesting leadership innovations occurring right in your backyard.  I will be seeking out unique, innovative events or programs to feature in this section.  If you have an innovative leadership activity or know of another Extension Agent or County that is doing something extraordinary, please contact me!

About Us: Kris Ricketts

Assistant Extension Professor

Kristen Ricketts

Hello!  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Kristina Ricketts, and I am the new Leadership Development specialist at the University of Kentucky.  I have a passion for leadership and am very interested in bringing Extension Agents as well as community members the very best resources to develop and enhance leadership across Kentucky communities.

For a little background on myself, I was born and raised in Nebraska, and have been involved in nearly all aspects of Extension (including 4-H) since I was very small – 8 to be exact.  I have a B.S. in Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications from the University of Nebraska, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Leadership and Extension from the University of Florida.  If you are interested in learning more about my history, please click on my curriculum vitae.

In my current role, I am very interested in raising the bar for leadership across the state.  I know there are already a large number of leadership programs out there, at the local, regional and state level.  It is my job to serve as your resource for leadership – whether that be assisting in development of a new leadership program, restructuring an existing program, or discussing networking opportunities to build leadership bridges in your county.  To that end, there are a wide variety of leadership seminars that I can present for you, or help you to put together and present, to assist in your group or community’s leadership development.  In addition, I am here to assist in your own personal leadership development – and have put together an interesting array of Extension In-services that I hope you will find not only intriguing, but also practical and useful.  Finally, for more in-depth leadership development, I teach several leadership courses at the University of Kentucky, within the Community and Leadership Development Department.

If there is anything I can do to help you in your leadership ventures, please don’t hesitate to call or email me at the contact information below.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!
