Ever think of having goose for Christmas? Goose was the original tradition for Christmas but has been surpassed by the turkey. While geese are not commonly raised for eggs, they can also be raised for feathers and down. Geese can also be raised as weeders for crops. Geese can also be raised for foie gras - fatty liver pate - although this has been declining in popularity because of animal welfare concerns.
