No matter where you live, or what your occupation or background is, if you have an interest in food and culture you’ll want to attend this exciting event coming in March. You and others you know are invited to join the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture as it teams with its many partners to sponsor a unique symposium to examine future visions for Kentucky agriculture, rural communities, local markets and development of sustainable food systems. The goal is to consider all aspects of Kentucky’s rural agricultural communities, including the economic, the environmental and the social. We are bringing together journalists, poets, chefs, artists, environmentalists, agricultural economists and other educators from across the region and nation to further progress toward a new future for our state’s rural communities.
Speakers will set the stage for discussions during the symposium. Panelists will illuminate the role and identify actions for education, the arts, humanities, agriculture, media, business and government to guide Kentucky toward innovative directions for our culture of land and food. Discussions will address rural economies and agricultural sustainability, and will suggest solutions to help grow Kentucky. Participants will address the specific issues for their panel, and encourage thoughtful audience response and suggestions for action.
We look forward to seeing you in March for this important and exciting event
